Professor Michael Zavrel will become a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal “Engineering in Life Sciences” (ELS) on November 1, 2022. The journal ELS focuses on engineering principles and innovations in life sciences and biotechnology. It covers the use of biomolecules (e.g. proteins/enzymes), cells (microbial, plant and mammalian) and biomaterials for biosynthesis, biotransformation, cell-based treatment and bio-based solutions in industrial and pharmaceutical biotechnology. In particular, ELS aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between biologists, biotechnologists and engineers for quantitative understanding and holistic engineering of biological parts and processes in the various application areas.
