Lucky number 7 has been added to the list of doctoral students at the professorship for bioprocess engineering at TUMCS. As from the 1st of April 2024, M. Sc. Estelle van der Walt has joined the team as a doctoral student and research assistant and will be working on generating a process simulation database for the transBIB initiative. Estelle completed her bachelor’s in chemical engineering at the Northwest University’s Potchefstroom campus in South Africa from 2007 to 2010, whereafter she accumulated about 10 years of experience in process design, optimization and operation at Glencore Rhovan, a vanadium mine and processing plant. From 2021 to 2024 she completed her master’s degree in chemical biotechnology here at TUMCS.
We are happy to have Estelle join our team and support us in the module, “Downstream Processing”.
