The Professorship for Bioprocess Engineering recently acquired and installed brand-new bioreactors for research and teaching. These bioreactors enable the automated operation of bioprocesses and will contribute to the development of sustainable bioprocesses in the field of biofuels, platform chemicals, and biopolymers. In addition, these most-modern bioreactors made by the company IKA will be used to establish novel control concepts, so-called soft sensors, as well as for the transfer of the processes into large industrial scale.
