Prof. Dr. Zavrel will be the scientific lead of the TUM-UNESP Doctoral Summer School in São Paulo this year!
The TUM-UNESP Doctoral Summer/Winter School is a joint project between TUM and the Universidade Estadual Paulista “Jélio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP) in Brazil. It offers a platform for presenting research projects and gaining interdisciplinary perspectives.
Together with five doctoral students from TUM, including doctoral student Nico Geisler from the Professorship for Bioprocess Engineering, Prof. Dr. Zavrel will travel to São Paulo at the end of September and supervise the one-week program as scientific lead. Five other doctoral students and Prof. Eleni Gomes from UNESP will also join the doctoral summer school.
The topic of this year’s TUM-UNESP Doctoral Summer/Winter School is “Climate-Responsive Sustainable Resource Management“. The event will therefore focus on the challenges posed by climate change regarding advancing strategies that promote sustainable, global resource management. The interdisciplinary background of the participants will form the basis for solution-oriented discussions between the researchers and enable them to gain a wide range of perspectives on their own research projects. In addition to further scientific talks, the program of the Doctoral Summer School also includes the promotion of international and intercultural collaboration skills as well as visits to various university and industrial sites.
