Since June 2025, M.Sc. Gelda Bogran has been working as a doctoral candidate and research assistant in the Bioprocess Engineering team.
Ms Bogran completed her bachelor's degree in food technology at the Pan-American Agricultural School ‘El Zamorano’ in her home country of Honduras. During this time, she developed a particular interest in sustainable processes and how agricultural and industrial residues can be used more efficiently.
From 2022 to 2025, she completed her Master's degree in Biogenic Raw Materials Technology at the Straubing Campus of the Technical University of Munich. Her research focused on the optimisation of process parameters for the production of highly viscous biopolymers. Parallel to her studies, she worked at TUM International, where she acquired entrepreneurial skills and participated in EU-funded projects on the transformation of industrial parks into eco-industrial parks.
Her passion for innovation also led her to a start-up initiative that focuses on the upscaling of bioprocesses using additive manufacturing techniques and AI models.
